PURPOSE: A method for continuously preparing 3,3',5,5'-tetra-t-butyl-4,4'-biphenol by oxidation dimerizing 2,6-di-t-butylphenol is provided, to improve selectivity and conversion rate with inhibiting the generation of by-products such as diphenoquinone. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the step of supplying 2,6-di-t-butylphenol into a first reaction zone of a reaction apparatus formed by connecting at least a first reaction zone and a second reaction zone simultaneously with supplying an alkali catalyst into the first reaction zone and adding an oxygen-containing gas to the first and second reaction zones, to obtain a reaction mixture containing 3,3',5,5'-tetra-t-butyl-4,4'-biphenol from a final reaction zone. Preferably the reaction apparatus comprises a frontal reaction zone(25) containing at least a first reaction zone(22) and a latter reaction zone(26) containing at least one reaction zone, and the reaction temperature at the frontal reaction zone is lower than that of the latter reaction zone.
