PURPOSE: An illumination system by using an angle distributed lens is provided to increase the ratio of gray level by drastically reducing the angle of the light incident to the panel. CONSTITUTION: An illumination system by using an angle distributed lens includes a light source(10), an integrator(20), an angle distributed lens(80), a panel(70) and a projection lens(60). The light source(10) is consist of a light lamp(10) and a paraboloidal mirror(11). The integrator(20) maintains the light emitted from the light source(10) with one polarization light beam by making it uniform in position distribution or P/S splitting the light beam emitted from the light source(10). The angle distributed lens(80) changes the light beam into a parallel light beam by changing the refractive index in response to the angle of the light beam emitted from the integrator(20). The panel(70) illuminates the light emitted from the angle distributed lens(80) by reflecting or transmitting from a polarizing beam splitter(PBS)(50). And, the projection lens(60) displays the generated image on the screen by transmitting or reflecting it by the PBS(50).
