PURPOSE: An apparatus for exchanging a defective insulator in a power transmission line is provided to perform safely an exchanging work when exchanging a defective insulator and reduce the cost of construction. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for exchanging a defective insulator in a power transmission line comprises a pair of top and bottom fixing bodies(3a), a turn buckle(4), a ratchet handle(5), and a locking nut. The top and bottom fixing bodies support a defective insulator(1) and are connected each other through a hinge unit. The turn buckle connects the top fixing body to the bottom fixing body and covers the tension force of the defective insulator. The ratchet handle is mounted on the turn buckle and controls the tension force of the defective insulator. The locking nut prevents the fixing body from being separated when the fixing body is coupled to the defective insulator.
