PURPOSE: A communication device for selecting an encryption algorithm, a communication system using the same, and an algorithm selection method are provided to reduce the load in an encryption process by performing the encryption process according to a selected encryption algorithm. CONSTITUTION: A communication device includes an encryption information determination unit, an encryption processor, and a communication processor. The encryption information determination unit(32) selects an encryption algorithm from previous encryption algorithms according to a predicted total used resource or an actual total used resource. The encryption processor(38) is used for encrypting a packet according to the selected encryption algorithm. The communication processor(20) is used for transmitting the encrypted packet by the encryption processor.
