OVERRUNNING CLUTCH OF STARTER MOTOR FOR VEHICLE

PURPOSE: An overrunning clutch of a starter motor for a vehicle is provided to improve power transmission state by improving a cover and a roller to make the roller engage with a cam part. CONSTITUTION: A starter motor for a vehicle comprises an armature assembly rotating by receiving power supply; an internal gear assembly receiving power from the armature; an overrunning clutch transmitting power from the internal gear assembly to an engine; and a lever operating by a magnet switch to engage a pinion of the overrunning clutch with a ring gear of the engine. The overrunning clutch comprises a cover(61) and the pinion assembled to the outside by a washer. A roller(63) with a spring is interposed between the cover and the pinion, to transmit power. The depth of a cam part(64) formed to the bore of cover is the same as the length of the roller or is smaller than the length of the roller, and the roller is prevented from moving in the longitudinal direction between the bottom of the cam part and the washer.
