PURPOSE: Provided is a method for selecting a seed of cattail which can rapidly and effectively screen a seed from flowers of cattail and thereby, mass-breeds and propagates cattail. CONSTITUTION: The method for selecting a seed of cattail includes the steps of separating seeds and leaves from flowers by dipping them in water; placing the seeds from the flowers in a thermal rotator and primarily screening the seeds by rotating the rotator at 35 to 45 deg.C for 10 to 15 minutes; and secondarily screening the seeds by sieving the seeds from the primary screening step. The dipping is performed for 60 to 80 minutes. The thermal rotator is rotated at a speed of 100 to 150 rpm. The sieve has a pore of 0.121 to 0.177 mm. |
