PURPOSE: A display unit, a display device and a picture display system are provided to reduce power consumption by prevent a power supply from being applied to a driving circuit covering a non-effective region on a screen. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(100) includes a panel having a display screen(110) composed of a plurality of pixels and displays a picture on the screen by driving each of the pixels. The pixels are arranged for the plurality of pixels to be disposed in each of two directions mutually intersecting. Each of the plurality of driving circuits drives pixels in a predetermined region on the screen based on a picture signal representing the picture. The display unit further includes a driving circuit control portion(160) supplying a power supply to the driving circuits according to an effective area signal indicative of a specified area on the display screen.
