摘要 PURPOSE: A ferroelectric LCD device is provided to generate a gate start pulse at least more than twice within one frame period, and to supply the same data to an LCD panel at least more than twice within the one frame period by maintaining polarity of the data, thereby improving VHR(Voltage Holding Ratio) characteristics and brightness. CONSTITUTION: An LCD panel(64) is configured, in which ferroelectric liquid crystal cells are arrayed in matrix type. A data driving circuit(62) supplies data to data lines(D1-Dm) of the LCD panel(63). A gate driving circuit(63) supplies a scan pulse to gate lines(G1-Gm) of the LCD panel(64). A timing controller(61) controls the data driving circuit(62) and the gate driving circuit(63). The LCD panel(64) consists of a TFT array substrate and a color filter array substrate. The TFT array substrate and the color filter array substrate are bonded together by a sealant, and a ferroelectric liquid crystal is injected between the TFT array substrate and the color filter array substrate.
