PURPOSE: An in-plane switching LCD device is provided to use a gate driver that applies different common voltages to adjacent storage lines with a source driver having the same data output signal polarity as a dot inversion system, thereby applying a higher pixel voltage to a liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION: A shift register(310) inputs a gate start pulse signal(GSP) and a left/right selection signal(L/R) from a microcomputer, is synchronized with a gate shift clock signal(GSC), and sequentially stores scanning signals(Gout1,Gout2,...,Goutn) to be applied to each gate line. A level shifter(320) shifts the scanning signals(Gout1,Gout2,...,Goutn) in response to a gate output enable signal(GOE) of the microcomputer. A buffer(330) outputs the scanning signals(Gout1,Gout2,...,Goutn) at one of a high level(VGH), a low level(VGL), the first supply voltage(VCC), and the second supply voltage(VSS), is applied with the first and second common voltages(Vcom(+),Vcom(-)), and outputs each storage line applying signal(Sout0,Sout1,Sout2,...,Soutn). |
