NAVIGATION DEVICE VISUALLY DISPLAY RECOMMENDED PATHS ON SCREEN

PURPOSE: A navigation device is provided to visually display recommended paths on a screen thereby enabling users to recognize the recommended paths easily. CONSTITUTION: A navigation device includes a path searching member(101), a position detector(102), an orientation determining member(104), a renderer(105), and a display(3). The path searching member extracts a recommended path. The position detector detects current position of a moving body. The orientation determining member selects a plurality of pints from a segment ranging from current position to a point spaced from the current position with a predetermined distance, and it determines a vector representing the orientation of the recommended path by using the selected points. The renderer generates a map image by overlapping recommended paths on a map according to the determined orientation. The display displays the map image generated by the renderer on an embedded screen.
