PURPOSE: Provided are a pumpkin containing a large amount of selenium that has no toxicity to the human body and is highly absorbed into it, and a method for manufacturing a processed food using the same. The manufactured processed food using the selenium-containing pumpkin has antioxidation activity, improves heart and lung functions, decomposes waste material, prevents hepatocirrhosis, increases immunity, improves, sexual function, treats muscular distrophy, and prevents cancer. CONSTITUTION: A selenium-containing pumpkin is cultured by supply water or fertilizer added with selenium to a pumpkin. A method for manufacturing a processed food, such as a beverage, a powdery gruel product and the like, is characterized by using the selenium-containing pumpkin.
