PURPOSE: Provided is an anticancer composition which comprises zinc and L-arginine in the pharmaceutically effective amount, with pharmaceutically acceptable carriers or diluents, and has excellent treatment effect on various kinds of cancers with decreased adverse side effect. The composition induces apoptosis and is thus useful for apoptosis of cancer cells. CONSTITUTION: An anticancer composition contains a pharmaceutically effective amount of zinc and L-arginine with pharmaceutically acceptable carriers or diluents. Particularly, the anticancer composition contains 0.001-0.025wt.% of zinc and 0.004-0.075 wt.% of L-arginine.
