STATIC EXCITATION SYSTEM FOR REMOVING TORSIONAL VIBRATION AND OVER-VOLTAGE IN LOW EXCITATION

PURPOSE: A static excitation system for removing torsional vibration and over-voltage in low excitation is provided to remove the torsional vibration and the over-voltage by supplying rapidly field current to a generator in an abnormal state of an output terminal of the generator. CONSTITUTION: A static excitation system for removing torsional vibration and over-voltage in low excitation includes an initial excitation device, a step-down transformer(39), a three-phase diode bridge(31), a chopper(32) for sustaining a DC voltage, a DC chopper(34) for supplying DC power to a rotor of a generator, a controller(37) for controlling the chopper(32), and a DC chopper controller(37') for controlling the DC chopper(34). The chopper(32) and the DC chopper(34) are used for removing the over-voltage applied to an excitation system and preventing an out-of-step of the generator.
