PURPOSE: A turning tool is provided to increase the usability of the tool for different machining operations. CONSTITUTION: A holder(1) has a pocket to store cutting inserts(3,5) to be replacable. The pocket is arranged to put one insert in an operating cut position by positioning a tool body centering a positioning axis. One of the inserts has a main flat toward the side of the lengthwise centering axis(CL) of the holder. Thereby, the usability of a turning tool is increased. Moreover, the setting time of different typed processing operations is reduced. |
