PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling video signals output are provided to supply a video signal selected among video signals of various formats to a different video signal processing device or video signal output device, thereby enabling recording or display of a video signal inputted from a different signal source. CONSTITUTION: An analog buffer(102), a first decoder(104) and a second decoder(108) of a video signal outputting unit(100) respectively receive video signals of various formats, such as analog RGB(Red/Green/Blue) signals, Y/Pb/Pr signals, and CVBS(Composite Video Burst Sync) signals, from various signal sources. The analog buffer(102) buffers the analog RGB signals to output the buffered signals to an RGB output terminal. The first decoder(104) converts the Y/Pb/Pr signals into digital RGB signals to provide the converted signals to a multiplexer(106). The second decoder(108) separates synchronous signals, luminescence signals and chrominance signals from the CVBS signals to input the separated signals to a deinterlacer(110). The deinterlacer(110) deinterlaces an output of the second decoder(108) to convert the deinterlaced signals into progressive signals. An ADC(Analog-to-Digital Converter)(112) converts an output of the deinterlacer(110) into digital RGB signals to provide the converted signals to the multiplexer(106). The multiplexer(106) selects one of the digital RGB signals provided by the first decoder(104) and the ADC(112) to output the selected signal to the RGB output terminal. A microcomputer(114) outputs a control signal to output the selected video signal according to user's selection inputted through a user interface(120). |
