PURPOSE: A mobile communication terminal for reducing power consumption and a method therefor are provided to automatically control a driving of a supplementary LCD screen and a back light of a mobile communication terminal, depending on whether a human body is sensed, thereby preventing unnecessary power of a battery from being consumed. CONSTITUTION: The first touch sensor(11) receives a positive power to sense a human body's contact. The second touch sensor(12) receives a negative power to sense the human body's contact. A back light(13) irradiates light on a keypad, a folder or a main LCD screen attached to a slide. A supplementary LCD screen(14) is attached to outside the folder or the slide. A controller(15) controls a driving of the back light(13) and the supplementary LCD screen(14), depending on whether a human body is contacted. A speaker(16) outputs a melody under control of the controller(15). |
