PURPOSE: A method for managing a visiting card having a color bar code and a mobile communication terminal using the same are provided to easily manage personal information of the visiting card by recognizing a color code printed on the visiting card and storing personal information of the visiting card in the mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A camera(110) photographs a color bard code as a bar code image. A bar code reading unit(120) judges whether the brightness of the bar code image is greater or less than a predetermined threshold value, classifies a bar code and a background, and outputs bar code data. A bar code data processing unit(130) recognizes and processes the bar code data outputted from the bar code reading unit(120), reads bar code information included in a bar code, and transmits URL(Uniform Resource Locator) information included in the bar code data to a microprocessor(180). A memory(160) connects to a specific URL extracted from the bar code image photographed in the camera(110) and bar code data information outputted from the bar code data processing unit(130), and stores received visiting card data. A display unit(150) outputs a bar code reading frame for designating a portion in which the bar code is located in the bar code image outputted from the bar code reading unit(120). An interface unit(170) transmits the visiting card data stored in the memory(160) or URL information included in the visiting card data to the other side by a short message. The microprocessor(180) controls the memory(160) and the interface unit(170) in response to a transmission signal of a signal input unit(140), and controls the display unit(150) for automatically connecting to the specific URL and outputting the corresponding visiting card data.
