PURPOSE: A control system for controlling a mobile communication terminal by using an external apparatus and a method therefor are provided to remotely control a mobile communication terminal by using an external apparatus such as a computer or a PDA connected to the mobile communication terminal in wired or wireless method, thereby realizing user convenience and improving communication service quality. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal(520) receives a message through a base station(510), stores/displays various character information and image information, and supplies the stored/displayed information. A computer(530) is remotely connected to the mobile communication terminal(520) according to a user's indication, receives the character information or the image information requested by the user, and displays the received information. The computer(530) is connected to the mobile communication terminal(520) in wired method. The mobile communication terminal(520) and the computer(530) transceive serial data in wired method. The computer(530) requests specific information of the mobile communication terminal(520) at certain intervals, updates a display screen if the requested information is transmitted, and displays the received information.
