The device supplying heat to an automobile engine (3) cooling loop by a heat carrying fluid circulating by means of a principal pump (6) comprises a first circuit (1) connecting a fluid outlet (2) from the engine to a principal valve (4). This valve, according to the temperature, allows the passage of the heat carrying fluid to a second circuit (12) where there is a principal heat exchanger (10) which cools the fluid before its return to the engine. A third circuit (13) connected to the outlet has a secondary valve (15) allowing fluid passage to a fourth circuit (18) comprising a heat exchanger, an auxiliary pump (25) and a burner (20) supplying, if necessary, an additional heat power by means of a heat recuperator.
