PURPOSE: A video mute method is provided to output image data desired by a user upon video mute, so as to solve a problem of black screen caused by cutting off a video signal output when video mute is requested. CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor receives a video signal from a video signal input unit and checks whether the video signal is in an unstable state due to screen initialization, screen transition, a fog signal, power on/off, etc.(300). If the video signal is in an unstable state, the microprocessor checks whether a user video mute is set by a user in advance(304). If a user video muse is not set, the microprocessor performs a general video mute operation(308), and if set, the microprocessor reads image data stored in a memory to generate a video signal according to the image data and provide the generated video signal to a video signal processor. The video signal processor processes the received video signal and outputs the video signal through a video signal output unit(306). If the video signal outputted by the video signal input unit is stabilized while the video signal according to the image data is outputted(310), the microprocessor controls the video signal processor to process and output the video signal outputted by the video signal output unit(312). |
