The procedure involves generating a reference state identified by a configuration. A packet of constituents in the configuration is modified. The generated state is marked with a new configuration. A relation is introduced between the two configurations where one of the configurations is used as reference or starting point to create/develop the other configuration. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a file system (b) a computer with a file system.
