When the engine speed is in a low speed region, the engine output control amount is calculated at a first calculation timing based on a newest instantaneous engine speed obtained immediately before the engine output control timing. When the engine speed is outside the low speed region, the engine output control amount is calculated at a second calculation timing. The first calculation timing is provided in a period after detection of the instantaneous engine speed until the engine output control timing. An independent claim is also included for an internal engine output control device.
