The transition phase between traffic congestion and fast driving is actively accelerated by informing each driver individually, at the right time and well in advance (region 1) as soon as the fast or free driving (region 4) condition is possible. The driver is then prepared (region 2) for the fast driving, which he has to maintain up to a certain moment in time (region 3). However, the time difference between the two runs shouldn't exceed the recommended safety distance.
