An injection-molded plastic container (10) or closure comprises a sidewall (12) extending with an upward directional component(s) from a base wall (14) to a rim wall (16). The rim wall has partially perimetric segment having an upper portion (18) extending with both outward and downward directional components, and a lower portion (20) extending with downward and inward directional components. An injection-molded plastic container or closure comprises a sidewall extending with an upward directional component(s) from a base wall to a rim wall. The rim wall has partially perimetric segment having upper portion extending with both outward and downward directional components. It has a lower portion extending with downward and inward directional components. At given level (22) of the lower portion above the base wall has inner and outer surfaces (24, 26), each extending with inward directional component(s). An independent claim is also included for a method of cyclic injection-molding a plastic container or closure comprising providing a mold cavity between two mold parts for forming the container or closure, injecting fluid plastic material into the mold cavity to form the container or closure, separating the two parts, and removing the container or closure from the separated mold parts. The inner and outer surfaces of the lower portion of the given segment at the given level from one of the separated mold parts. |
