A brake mechanism brakes a front wheel (3A) or a rear wheel that is not driven by a motor drive mechanism when a front brake lever (17F) or rear brake lever (17B), respectively, is operated. A motor control circuit controls the motor so that the motor is regeneratively braked to act as a power generator when the brake lever is operated. A human power drive mechanism transmits human power from a pedal to the rear wheel. A motor drive mechanism provides auxiliary driving of the front or rear wheel by a motor that is supplied with electric power by a battery.
