Diaminotriazinyl compounds are new. Diaminotriazinyl compounds (I) of formulae (1) - (4) are new. Z-NR1-(RZ-NZ-)x-R2-NR1-Z (1) Z-NR1-(R2-NZ-)y-(-R2-N(R3-NR4-Z-)-)z-R2-NR1-Z (2) R5-((NZ-R2)x-NR1-Z)o (3) R5-((NZ-R2)y-(N(R3-NR4-Z)-R2)z-NR1-Z)o (4) R1, R4 = H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl; R2, R3 = -CnH2n-; R5 = o-valent alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl; x = at least 4; y, z = at least 1; o = 2-4; n = 2-6; Z = H or formula (5) with the proviso that at least 50 % of the Z groups are of formula (5). Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for the preparation of the compounds (I) by reaction of a compound of formulae (6) - (9) with a 2-halo-4,6-diaminotriazine (II) whereby the compound (II) is added in such an amount that at least 50 % of the X groups are replaced by 4,6-diaminotriazinyl groups and; (2) compositions (III) comprising at least one polyoxymethylene homo- or copolymer at least one compound of formula (1).
