In a process to render vegetable oil suitable for use as fuel in a diesel motor, the vegetable oil is exposed to ultrasonic emissions. The vegetable oil is unmodified sunflower oil, rape seed oil and/or oil extracted from plants with high oil fatty acids. An Independent claim is included a commensurate assembly in which the frequency of the regulated ultrasonic emissions is 20-100 kHz, preferably 20 kHz, and is directed at fuel flowing through a fuel line (7). The ultrasonic emitter is energized by the vehicle's own electrical system operating at 12 or 24V. The ultrasonic emitter is a piezo-electric quartz device or magnetic device operating in the range 20-100 kHz. The regulator system operates in accordance with the nature of the available fuel.
