The improved burner (1) for a heat generator has a swirler (2), mixing path (3) and combustion chamber (4) located one behind the other in the direction of flow, whereby the combustion chamber has a larger flow passage than the mixing path. The transition (15) between the mixing path and combustion chamber is constructed as a constantly widening cross section to allow a separation free flow course in the boundary area. The widening angle of the transition has a value of especially 50 degrees. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for the generating of improved burner geometry to reduce combustion chamber corner vortices.
