Liquid aqueous cleaning compositions

A liquid aqueous composition (I) having a pH of up to 7 comprises 0.01-20 wt. % of a peroxygen bleach (II), 0.001-30 wt.% of an ethoxylated nonionic surfactant (III) and 0.001-20 wt.% of a zwitterionic betaine surfactant (IV) at a weight ratio of (III) to (IV) of 0.01-20. (I) is free of an antimicrobial essential oil or its active ingredient. Also claimed is the use of a composition comprising a salt-free zwitterionic betaine surfactant and a peroxygen bleach for cleaning fabrics in which colour safety and/or fabric safety is improved.
