For removing unfixed developer powder from a developed electrophotographic surface (see Group XX) there is flowed over it a mixture of finely divided particles of etherified cellulose and of natural or synthetic silicon dioxide of average particle size not less than 1 micron. The etherified cellulose component which preferably is present as particles of 200 to 600 microns average zone may be methyl cellulose, ethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, methylhydroxyethyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, benzyl cellulose, or acids such as cellulose glycolic acid or the sodium salt thereof. Nonetherified cellulose may also be present. The silicon dioxide particles are preferably of 5 to 20 microns average zone and may comprise natural kieselguhr. |
