摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for efficiently recovering the thermal energy produced in an oxygen-rich combustion furnace. <P>SOLUTION: An air separation unit separates the air into an oxygen-rich gas and an oxygen-deficient gas. A fuel gas and the oxygen-rich gas are preheated in a heat exchanger where a flue gas of high temperature flows. The combustion of the preheated fuel and oxygen-rich gas generates the flue gas of high temperature. The flue gas of high temperature is cooled in the heat exchanger and flows through a waste heat boiler. The water and/or steam flowing through the waste heat boiler absorbs the energy derived from the cooled flue gas, whereby the overheated steam is produced. The overheated steam flows through a turbine to generate the electric power. The electric power is transferred to the air separation unit, whereby the electric power demand of the air separation unit necessary for separating the air can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
