The method involves distributing laminate chips, in form of cards (2), in spaced apart manner and in single file between the centerline (5) and one of longitudinal edges (4,9) of a continuous band of fabric (1). The zones (6,7) of the band of fabric are superposed together and joined at the longitudinal edges by ultrasound welding (11). The continuous band of fabric is cut into pieces, each enclosing the chip. The chip has a radio frequency integrated circuit.
