PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault restoring system or the like which restores a fault easily without requiring high-capacity storage resource. SOLUTION: The fault restoring system is formed by connecting through a network 2 a reference computer 4 having a reference tool installed and storing information on its reference environment to a user computer 1 having one or more tools installed and storing information on its environment. When the user computer 1 has a fault in any tool, the user computer 1 obtains through the network 2 the information on the reference environment related to the same tool as the faulty tool from the reference computer 4, compares the obtained information on the reference environment with the information on the environment in the user computer 2 having the faulty tool, and replaces a module involved in a portion having different information on the environment with a normal module.
