PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel having simple configuration, having a shutter unit capable of realizing the speeding-up of the opening/closing of a sector, and made smaller in size. SOLUTION: The lens barrel 10 has a first group frame 31 and a fixed frame 32, and incorporates a prism to refract subject luminous flux from an incident optical axis O1 to an optical axis O2 being in a perpendicular direction in the first group frame. A second group frame 38 to hold a second group lens 35 capable of moving forward and backward in the direction of the optical axis O2 is arranged in the frame 32, and a CCD 55 to convert a subject image to an electric image pickup signal is arranged below the frame 38. The sector of a shutter unit 48 arranged on the upper surface part of the frame 38 is driven to slide by a solenoid for a shutter 52 through the shaft part 72 of a shutter driving arm 71 and a sector driving lever 43. The shaft part 72 is extended to be long along the optical axis O2, but it is formed of a hollow shaft member, so that the sector is opened/closed at high speed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
