<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate whose coloration is controlled and which has a high polarization degree and high transmittance and is durable under a high-temperature, high humidity condition. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is provided with a protection film on at least one surface of its polarizer across an adhesion layer. The polarizer is characterized in that it is a polyvinyl alcohol film which is dyed with iodine and processed with potassium iodide, the element content ratio (K/I) of iodine (I) and potassium (K) being 0.05 to 0.24, and the protection film contains (A) a thermoplastic resin having a substituent and/or non-substituent imide group at a side chain and (B) a thermoplastic resin having a substituent and/or non-substituent phenyl group and a nitrile group in its side chain. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
