PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotational torque intensifier that obtains an output larger than an input by using a permanent magnet. SOLUTION: The rotational torque intensifier 10 comprises a rotatable driven rotor 36; a plurality of driven permanent magnets 48 of which the polarities are aligned in the same direction orthogonal to the driven rotor 36 along an annular band-shaped surface 72 formed on the driven rotor, and which are arranged in the circumferential direction in an annular row-shape at constant intervals; a magnet wheel group 38 which is arranged on the rotational raceway surface of the driven permanent magnet 48, and arranged in the circumferential direction of the driven rotor 36; and a drive source which rotatively drives magnet wheels 48A to 54B of the magnet wheel group 38 in the same direction relative to the annular band-shaped surface 72. The magnet wheels 48A to 54B are equipped with a plurality of drive permanent magnets 58 attached to the external periphery of a rotating body 56, and the permanent magnets 58 and the driven permanent magnets 48 are arranged so that polarities at opposite faces of the magnets are the same polarities. By rotations of the magnet wheels 48A to 54B, repulsive forces are generated between the drive and driven permanent magnets 58, 48, to rotate the driven rotor 36. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
