PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly and exactly grasp the status of a part where an abnormality is generated. SOLUTION: A monitoring camera unit 10 is constituted of a convex magic mirror 15 on which all direction images of a monitoring area are reflected, a first camera 14 which photographs the all the direction images and a second camera 16 having an optical zoom function and which photographs images in the specific direction. Image data photographed by the first camera 14 is transmitted to an image processor 11, image processing and storage of the image data are performed and the all direction images are displayed on a monitor 12. When an abnormality is generated, overwrite storage of the image data is canceled and pieces of the image data before and after generation of the abnormality are stored. The part where the abnormality is generated is specified from the all direction images of the first camera 14, the photographic direction of the second camera 16 is made to match the part where the abnormality is generated and a detailed image of the part where the abnormality is generated is photographed by using the optical zoom function. Display of the monitor 12 is switched over to an image from the camera 16 and the status of the part where the abnormality is generated is grasped. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
