PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ink mist or the like from adhering to a recording medium loading face of a carriage even when printing (including frameless printing) is carried out with the use of recording media of various sizes in an inkjet printer of a type which carries out scanning/printing while a head is fixed and the recording medium is loaded on the carriage. SOLUTION: The recording medium loading carriage is in a divided configuration. A combination of connection of divided carriages is carried out simply in accordance with a size of the recording medium to be used.
