PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder comprising a means for carrying a recording medium, and a section for stacking the recording media when recording operation is not performed wherein portability and containing performance are taken into account including the recording media. SOLUTION: The recorder is characterized in that the containing direction of the recording media when recording operation is not performed is differentiated from the carrying direction of the recording medium during recording operation.
