PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device for an endoscope, for surely adjusting a focus, attaining good operability and performing autoclave sterilization. SOLUTION: A package frame 17 is disposed in a camera head part 12 of the imaging device 4 for the endoscope, and the package frame 17 is formed by airtightly jointing an imaging optical frame 18, a tube 19 having a bellows part and a variable shape, and an imaging element frame 20 to each other. The imaging element frame 20 is fitted to a sheathing 16 to be movable in the direction of the optical axis of a focusing lens group 22. In the imaging element frame 20, shape memory alloys 27, 28 increased in total length by galvanization heating are disposed as a drive means, and connected to the inside of the tube 19, the imaging optical frame 18 and the imaging element frame 20. In response to the pressing operation of an operating part 29, a driving circuit of a CCU (camera control unit) 4 turns on/off a contact point 30 to apply an electric current or no electric current, thereby adjusting the supply of an electric current for heating to the shape memory alloy 27, 28 to vary the relative position of the imaging optical frame 18 and the imaging element frame 20.
