MONITORING OF PRINT PERFORMANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a printing method for suppressing increase of printing cost.

SOLUTION: This printing method has a step for detecting a state that a page is probably wasted, and a step for stopping a print job according to the state. The step for detecting the state that the page is wasted can be a step for monitoring a printer to detect wastefulness of a consumable resource increasing a cost per page. The step for stopping the print job roughly estimates a cost of wasteful page, and stops the job when the roughly estimated cost exceeds a selected threshold level. At that time, a list of options is displayed on a user interface to allow a user to select an action.
