METHYL TRANSFERASE, GENE ENCODING THE SAME, TRANSFORMANT CONTAINING THE GENE AND TRANSFORMING METHOD USING THE GENE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methyl transferase associated with a betaine synthesis, a gene encoding the transferase, an organism capable of representing environmental resistance in high level by the transformation using the gene, and a transforming method for creating the organism.

SOLUTION: Two kinds of the methyl transferase associated with the betaine synthesis are obtained from a salt tolerant blue-green algae. The gene encoding the methyl transferase, the coexpression vector containing the gene, the transformant containing the coexpression vector and the transforming method using the gene are also provided.
