PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interphone system in which a call between a master unit and a sub master unit or between sub master units is made possible and a call originating side is recognized at a call terminating side. SOLUTION: A master unit 1 is provided with: a function for displaying predetermined image data or video shot by a TV camera of an intercom slave set 2 on its own monitor device 37; a function for transmitting the predetermined image data or the video to sub master units 12 via a transmission line 13 and displaying them on monitor devices 63; and a function for performing control to notify the call terminating side of the call originating side with identifiable ring back tones based upon information of a selection operation using a intra-house call destination selection picture displayed on its own monitor device 37 or the monitor device 63 of the other sub master unit, and for establishing a speech path between the call originating side and the call terminating side based upon information of a response operation on the call terminating side.
