PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple stencil printing apparatus which can automatically make a high quality press plate and readily make a press plate of a picture image or the like, in which the construction is simple, compact and portable, troubles are few, cost is low, and a power source is not necessary. SOLUTION: A sheet shaped recording medium 100 has an apparatus main body 6 having internally a press plate making means 62 and a draft reading device 63, and a frame 1 which is vertically rotatable around a supporting shaft 4 as a support. An upper plate 17 for storing printing papers 26 is provided on the upper face of the device main body 6, and a draft 23 is read with a close contact type CCD sensor 24 while the upper plate 17 is removed. A master 2 which is produced on the bases of the read information is positioned at a specified position while being wound around a plate discharging roll 14, and is pasted on an ink passage screen 3 with a first clamper 11 and a second clamper 12. An ink feed roller not shown in Figure is manually pressed and rotated on the upper face of the ink passage screen 3 while keeping the frame 1 closed.
