PURPOSE: A mobile communication system, a mobile station, a base station and a packet communication method used therefor are provided to previously transmit information necessary for a packet transmission or to maintain physical channel resources, and to perform the packet transmission at fast timing, thereby effectively reducing a delay of the packet transmission. CONSTITUTION: A base station(1) comprises as follows. Base station transceivers set a wireless channel in a mobile station(2). A base station state updating unit creates transceiving state update information for showing that a packet receivable state is updated in the mobile station(2), and informs the mobile station(2) of the transceiving state update information. A base station information storage continuously maintains dedicated physical channel setup information through the wireless channel in a suspend state. The mobile station(2) comprises as follows. Mobile station transceivers set the wireless channel in the base station(1). A mobile station state updating unit sets either an active state for receiving a packet or a suspend state in which the packet is not received. A mobile station information storage continuously maintains a dedicated physical channel setup information through the wireless channel in the suspend state.
