<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device for music information in which a workload for rewriting the music information can be reduced and its time can be shortened. <P>SOLUTION: A hard disc device 20 stores the music information for a large number of musical compositions accumulated so far. While the music information is reproduced using various types of audio sources such as a digital broadcast receiver 10, and the like, an audio control part 26 compares a quality of this music information with the quality for the music information for the identical musical composition stored on the hard disc 20.
