<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can surely shield laser beam without increasing the parts count. <P>SOLUTION: A laser scanner unit retaining frame 4 which is indispensable for retaining a photoreceptor drum 2 and a laser scanner unit 1 in a specified relationship of positions is movable. The function of a shielding mechanism of the laser beam is shared by the laser scanner unit retaining framed 4 by having it moved from a laser beam emitting window 1a to an optical path of the photoreceptor drum 2 when a cover 8 is opened. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
