REACTION SOLUTION, SET OF REACTION SOLUTION AND INK, INK JET RECORDING EQUIPMENT, AND IMAGE RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-quality and excellent image which has a high density and is free of unevenness of density and color bleeding and which is not rubbed out even when a recorded portion is rubbed, by applying a reaction solution on paper by a roller coating method, without complicating equipment.

SOLUTION: The reaction solution is used for image recording together with ink containing a color material in a dissolved or dispersed state. The reaction solution, which makes unstable the state of dissolution or dispersion of the color material in the ink by coming into contact with the ink, contains at least a polyvalent metal and a nonionic polymer. A Ka value of the reaction solution in a Bristow method is 1.3-3.0 mL×m-2×ms-1/2and the viscosity thereof is 20-150 mPa s.
