<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy for a user to select an objective printer even in sharing a plurality of printers on a network by displaying classifications of printers together with a list of printers so as to make the gloss type of each printer distinguishable. <P>SOLUTION: In order to inquire about printers on the network from a host, printers being available on the network are recognized on the host side by a broad signal, and thereafter, an inquiry is directly made about the gloss type of each of printers existing on the network. After gloss types of respective printers are found, a list of the printers is displayed, and types of respective printers are added on the list of the printers by using acquired information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
