DEVELOPING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which can obtain images of high and uniform image quality even when used in common in image forming apparatuses different from each other in constitution and attains a considerable reduction of the development cost and apparatus cost and to provide an image forming apparatus with the developing device.

SOLUTION: The developing device 3M has a developing container 31 containing a developer comprising toner and a carrier, and a developer carrier 33 which forms a developing region opposite to an image carrier 1 with a latent image formed on the surface and transports the developer 32 from the container 31 to the developing region. Different developers are used as the developer 32 in response to the direction X1 of movement of the developer carrier 33 to the image carrier 1.
